Sports Hopping

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 25 September 2026 · Applies to the Sports Hopping mobile app and this website.

Sports Hopping is built to need as little of your data as possible. We don't show ads, we don't sell data, and the app contains no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

Who we are

Sports Hopping is operated by Pipefin AB (Sweden), the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at sporthopping@proton.me for any privacy question or request.

What we collect

What you contribute, and who can see it

Almost everything you create is private to you. Your logged games, ground visits and their notes, wishlist, attended list and display name are readable only by your own account, enforced by database row-level security. There is no profile page, feed, comment or message surface in Sports Hopping.

Two things can reach other people. A venue photo can appear on that venue's page — uploads are limited to approved contributors, and a contributor's photo is checked by a person before anyone else sees it. A club name you suggest while logging a game is visible only to you until we've reviewed it; after that it joins the shared club list, so others can pick it too. Photos and club names are shown without your name attached, and anyone can report a club name or photo from the app for us to look at again.

Venue corrections and problem reports go only to us. Nothing you contribute is used for advertising.

Reminders

The optional morning and evening reminders are scheduled by your own device and stay on it. We don't send push notifications from our servers, and we can't see whether a reminder fired.

What we don't collect

Where your data lives

Accounts and app data are stored with Supabase, hosted in the European Union (AWS eu-west-1, Ireland). Venue photos are stored in Cloudflare R2. This website is served by Cloudflare. These providers process data on our behalf as processors; they don't use it for their own purposes.

Where the sports data comes from

Fixtures, clubs and club crests come from TheSportsDB and Highlightly, and are shown under licence from them. Crests are the trademarks of their clubs and are used for identification only. We fetch that data with our own servers — your personal data is never sent to those providers.

How long we keep it

Your account and activity data are kept for as long as you have an account. If you delete your account, or ask us to, we delete the personal data associated with it. A venue photo that has already been published may stay on the venue page, with no link to you, unless you ask us to take it down.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app, which takes effect immediately. If you no longer have the app, email sporthopping@proton.me from your account's email address and we'll delete it within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your email address, profile, attended and wishlisted venues, favorites, follows, logged games, badges, and any unpublished venue photo. A few contributions — a venue photo that was already approved and published, venue corrections, location confirmations, and problem or feedback reports, and clubs you added that other people's logged games may use — are kept but anonymized, with no link back to you. Free text you wrote in a correction or report is kept as part of that record, so avoid including personal information in it — you can email us to have specific text removed. Copies of deleted data may also remain briefly in routine database backups until those backups rotate out. See how to delete your account for full instructions.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal data, and you can object to or restrict our processing of it. Email sporthopping@proton.me and we'll handle it. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in Sweden, IMY).

Legal basis

We process account and activity data because it's necessary to provide the service you signed up for (contract). Location and photo access are processed only with your consent, which you give through the system permission prompts and can withdraw in your device settings. We review contributed photos and club names on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the app safe and accurate.

Children

Sports Hopping is not directed at children under 13, you must be at least 13 to hold an account, and we don't knowingly collect data from younger children.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
